Two Volunteer Roles That Could Shape the Future of Hope Education Project UK
At Hope Education Project UK, real change happens when the right people step forward.
We are a newly registered UK charity supporting education and anti-trafficking programmes in Northern Ghana. Our work reaches girls, young women, and children who face the greatest risks of exploitation, gender-based violence, and human trafficking.
Right now, we are looking for two skilled volunteers to help us grow with purpose. Both roles are fully remote, listed on Reach Volunteering, and offer a genuine opportunity to contribute where it counts.
Volunteer Role 1: Chair of Trustees
Strategic governance leadership for a growing UK charity We are at a pivotal moment. As a newly registered Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), Hope Education Project UK needs strong governance to build credibility, secure funding, and grow sustainably.
That’s where you come in. As our volunteer Chair of Trustees, you will lead the trustee board, support sound decision-making, and help us lay the governance foundations a safeguarding-led charity needs. You’ll work closely with our founder and fellow trustees to shape strategic direction, manage risk, and ensure legal compliance, without being drawn into day-to-day operations.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience in charity governance, leadership, or trustee roles
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and survivor-led approaches
- The confidence to challenge constructively and lead inclusive board discussions
- A background in international development, human rights, or fundraising (helpful but not essential)
An understanding of how poverty, gender inequality, and limited access to education drive trafficking in West Africa would be a real asset. Apply on Reach Volunteering: Chair of Trustees
Volunteer Role 2: Social Media Strategy Lead
Shape how Hope Education Project UK tells its story Let’s be clear about what this role is and what it isn’t. This is not a content posting role. We already have a growing team of young women volunteers who are ready to create and publish content.
What we need is someone with the strategic vision to build the structure around them.
As our volunteer Social Media Strategy Lead, you will define content pillars, establish tone and brand positioning, and align our social media activity with our fundraising and programme goals. You’ll design simple, workable systems for planning, scheduling, and content review — and provide light-touch mentorship to our volunteer creators.
This work carries real responsibility. Communicating about human trafficking, girls’ protection, and survivor-led education must always centre dignity, consent, and safeguarding. We need someone who understands that instinctively.
We’re particularly interested in people who are:
- Early in their career or building experience in digital communications or marketing
- Confident using platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn
- Interested in ethical storytelling and responsible use of AI tools
- Motivated by social justice and survivor-led approaches
There is also optional scope for front-facing, on-camera work, fully supported within our safeguarding standards for those who want it. Apply on Reach Volunteering: Social Media Strategy Lead

We welcome questions at any stage, we want this process to be as transparent and welcoming as the work itself. If you are ready to put your skills toward something that genuinely matters, we would love to hear from you.
