Help Us Raise £10,000 to Combat Human Trafficking in Northern Ghana

Join us in launching a transformative pilot project in Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana. Our goal is to secure £10,000 to initiate a comprehensive human trafficking education and awareness program within three local schools and their surrounding communities. This pilot is the first step in a broader strategy aimed at preventing the trafficking of vulnerable boys and girls for exploitation across Ghana and eventually West Africa.

About the Hope Education Project (HEP)

The Hope Education Project is dedicated to combating human trafficking through targeted education initiatives in Ghanaian schools and communities. Our mission is to significantly reduce the risk of trafficking by empowering vulnerable populations with essential knowledge and tools.

HEP Pilot Project Overview

In June 2024, we will kick off our pilot project in Tamale, Northern Region focusing on three Junior High Schools, the surrounding parent community, and a group of out-of-school females. Tamale has been chosen due to its high-risk factors for human trafficking, exacerbated by climate change impacts, economic instability, ethnic tensions and increasing regional conflict emanating from the Sahel. These challenges make Tamale a critical point for early intervention.

Why Your Support Matters

Funding this pilot project is not just an investment in a program, but an investment in the future safety and well-being of countless children and families. Your support will help us gather crucial data to refine our approach, ensuring the program’s effectiveness before it is expanded. Successful demonstration of impact will also attract further funding from institutional donors, essential for the project’s expansion throughout Ghana and beyond.
Your contribution can change lives by providing the tools and education necessary to protect those most at risk of human trafficking. Together, we can create a safe environment for today’s youth and future generations.

Help us to raise £12,000 for our pilot project in Tamale, Northern Region, Ghana. The pilot will give us valuable evidence to support our funding applications to expand the program.

The Hope Education Project is a human trafficking education and awareness program for schools and communities in Ghana. Our mission is to deter the flow of vulnerable boys and girls trafficked for exploitation, both internationally and within Ghana.

We will be launching our pilot project in Tamale in June 2024 working in three Junior High Schools, the parent community around the schools and a cohort of out-of-school females.

We selected Tamale as our focal area due to its heightened susceptibility to human trafficking. This vulnerability is compounded by a confluence of factors including the adverse effects of climate change, economic challenges, ethnic tensions, notably those involving the Kasasi and Mamprusi communities, and the escalating pressures from conflicts in the Sahel region

Data from the pre-pilot project will provide essential insight into the efficacy of the program and indicate where we need to make adjustments for the full pilot. Importantly it will demonstrate activity on the ground to potential institutional funders for the roll out of the program throughout Ghana.
